Although most of the tracks will be quite recent, I’m gonna cheat this first time.

Lang leve de Golf II

Even een kleine update over de auto!
Hij staat weer volledig in elkaar en rijdt beter dan ooit!
Dit mede door:
- Nieuw spatbord linksvoor + gespoten
- Deur uitgedeukt + gespoten
- Nieuwe linkerspiegel
- Nieuwe velg
- Nieuwe banden voor
Dit zijn alle werken die nodig waren om de auto terug in de staat van voor het accident te brengen.
Nu we toch bezig waren heb ik nog wat euvels verholpen..
- Klep voor het regelen van de aanzuig lucht hersteld (draait hij een pak beter door als het koud is)
- Achter ruitenwisser plat gelegd & hersteld, kabelbreuk..
- ‘Secondary throttle’ hersteld!
- Nieuwe thermostaat voor het regelen van den watertemperatuur
Het laatste, de thermostaat, is een grote vooruitgang! Met dit koude weer liep de motor niet meer warm en hierdoor ook bijzonder slecht, uitvallen, inhouden, veel verbruiken.. Hij loopt nu na een vijf tal kilometer weer op bedrijfstemperatuur zoals het moet!
Het ‘secondary throttle’ geval had ik toevallig ontdekt. Ik was wat documenten aan het doornemen en zag dat zo’n klep normaal ook op mijn auto zou moeten zitten. Heb de carburator dan eens goed bekeken en gemerkt dat de klep niet werkte. Vanaf bijna vol gas moet de klep normaal ook open gaan en een wat rijker mengsel aanmaken. Ik heb het mechanisme en de vacuüm van de klep eens bekeken en heb het probleem kunnen oplossen. Tijdens het rijden merk je duidelijk dat de klep terug werkt!
Auto is weer klaar voor een strenge winter.. (met hopelijk veel sneeuw!)

Lang leve scooterjongens

Vandaag, 12h smiddags, te mol.
Stel dat ge een 16 jarig kind zijt die enkele maanden zijn scooter heeft en denkt dat hij er de wereld mee aan kan.
Dan waag je het er wel even op om tegen 50km/h blind een straat in te vliegen, niet? Vooral als het wegdek glad is door de regen!
Het straatje is overigens een ‘gewone baan’ met geparkeerde auto’s aan de ene kant, zodat de beschikbare rijbaan even breed is als een gemiddelde éénrichtingsstraat.
STEL dat het je lukt, blindelings door de bocht vliegen en verder naar huis rijden voor het middagmaal. Goed!

Al bij al valt de schade aan men auto nog wel mee, het doet mij meer pijn in mijn hart dan de auto er zelf zal van voelen denk ik.. Zoals ge ziet zit er ook’n reserve wiel op omdat die gast uit paniek zen remme dicht pitste en onderuit ging en met gevolg de onder/zijkant van zen scooter men band gewoon heeft lek ‘geprikt’, de velg is ook vrij ‘na de klote’.
In ieder geval kan dieje gast zéér blij zen dat ik nie iets trager ree, of em had gewoon knal op men voorkant gezeten en schoon door men ruit gevlogen of dergelijke. Nu is em zo met zijn zijkant op de auto gevlogen en langs de deur ( die ook een deuk heeft ) verder naar achter gevlogen. Zen scooter heeft nog wel een bluts in een geparkeerde camionette geslaan.
Ik krijg het nogaltijd nie in men kop hoe stom ge moet zijn om bij nat weer zo’n bocht tegen die snelheid te nemen, em zag echt NIETS.
Zen moedere dee der nogal koel over, en dieje gast tegen zen ma ‘wacht mor totk men baanmachien heb’.. Veel succes daarmee jongen!
Goed, mijn auto is weer gehandicapt, klote.

Kode9: the king of dubstep? Yes, maybe he is. Why?
Some say because of his success with his own Hyperdub label, some say because of his refreshing dubstep basses. I’m sure Hyperdub has something to do with it, this label is releasing the hottest tracks you can get on this moment. One of there latest releases, the Kode9 remix of Find My Way, is definitely one to check out! That record has also got a second track which explains why The Space Ape with his dark lyrics is the perfect choice for vocals on Kode9′s records. If you’re not so familiar with dubstep you should try the new “Dubstep Drama: The Official Soundtrack To Dubplate Drama Series 2” cd. It’s not that heavy on the basses but a good cd to start with. Also you can try tuning in to rinse.fm.
This is it for now, I wanted to do a bigger piece on Hyperdub and Kode9 but I ain’t got much inspiration right now..
I also know i’m slacking a bit on the posts, doing my best to post more regularly.

OiNK: The Aftermath

I suppose that most of you will know OiNK (temporary site) and that it’s shut down. The British and Dutch police took the site down on the 23th of October. Most of the news articles that are on line at different newspapers are filled with lies.
The admin of OiNK, Allen, is currently released from custody and fine. He lost his job over this and he is seeking a new one.

Paine, who used to be a moderator at OiNK created a blog to quiet down the raging OiNK users.
His blog was the one reliably source with news about OiNK.
The message that was visible on the OiNK site just after it went down came from IFPI. The message stated that:
“A criminal investigation continues into the identities and activities of the site’s users.”
It’s clear by now that this will not be the case. OiNK had taken security measures just weeks before the raid and there isn’t enough incriminating material on the server to take any users down.
So what now?
Two major sites launched after the OiNK raid. What.cd and Waffles.fm. (Both are rather slow at this moment, they are upgrading their servers to handle the new users) Personally I think that What.cd has the biggest chance of becoming the new ‘biggest’ music tracker, it currently hosts the most torrents and has the most users.
The true loss of OiNK is it huge music archive. The tracker had around 180 000 users and the world’s largest music collection. Trent Reznor, the frontman of the rather famous group Nine Inch Nales recently said in an interview that he also was a member of OiNK. His interview makes it clear that OiNK wasn’t just about ‘illegal stuff’, it was a big community of music loving people.
I don’t think the raid of OiNK will help stop illegal downloads, these new sites that popped up will be successful in replacing OiNK, it might take some time, but they will get there!
